God

For many people, the word God represents a supreme being responsible for creating and ruling the world. Usually God is considered as knowing what happens in the world, and being able to influence it. People who believe in God are divided between those who believe in one deity, and those who believe in many.

 

The belief in one God holds that there is one supreme power, above all the forces that exist, which is the only one worth believing in, and the only one worthy of prayer and work. God is usually the creator and ruler of the world.

Polytheism means believing that there is a group of gods ruling the world.  Usually, each one is responsible for a specific power or force in the world. Often, all the gods inhabit a single dwelling.

In ancient times, most cultures believed that the number of higher powers was equal to the number of natural phenomena.  In those days, idol worship was common. For the most part, sacrifices were made to the gods (sometimes even human sacrifices) to please them and to appease their wrath.

 

 

 

The concept of god has accompanied human culture for thousands of years. At different times, the concept was given different meaning.

We do not know where and when the belief in entitles ruling the world and its destiny evolved. This is probably an idea and belief that developed over the years.

 

In most ancient kingdoms the king was perceived as a godlike figure, to be worshiped and served. Animals such as alligators and snakes were worshiped in Egypt. To this day some cultures have animal cults. such as the cult of the cobra in India. The next stage in the evolution of the perception of divinity, following the development of civilization, was that one god would hold a central position, and the rest of the gods would be servants and angels, subordinate to the supreme god.

 

 

 

The three main monotheistic religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam, perceive divinity differently:

Christianity has a three-fold perception of God (the Holy Trinity), distinguishing between God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

In Islam, God’s name is Allah, and in Judaism, God is the creator of the world, who has chosen a people to keep his rules after taking them out of Egypt, and continues to watch over them.

 

 

Many people around the world believe in the existence of God, despite the fact that there is no scientific way to prove or disprove it.

We often need a stable source of support to which we can address our prayers and which will help us understand strange and supernatural events that take place in the world.

We know that things in the world were created gradually. Maybe once there was nothing, or perhaps there always had to be something. This eternal thing can also be called - God...
