| A smile is a facial expression created by tightening muscles, especially those on both sides of the mouth, but also around the eyes. A smile is usually an expression of pleasure or amusement.
There are research findings indicating that a smile is a normal response to certain stimuli, and occurs regardless of culture. A sense of happiness generally causes a smile. Many research studies indicate that this is an innate reaction. Embryos smile in their mother`s womb, and babies smile in their first days of life, even without any stimulus.
A smile can heal and reduce feelings of physical and mental stress, and creates a sense of well-being and tranquility.
Give a smile - it`s worth your while
In order to break out of the cycle of sadness, wise men have discovered the trick of smiling - and it works! When you are happy you smile, and it is hard to smile when you are sad, but it is worth knowing that this strange thing can actually change your mood from one extreme to the other. In the same way that when you are happy you smile, when you smile you are happy! The smile itself is not just a result of inner happiness, it also causes inner happiness. So what we have here is a circular effect: people who are happy smile, and then they are happier, and then they smile more, and so on! If you are feeling sad you can join in this circle by giving a smile - it`s worth your while!
Smiling causes happiness
Smiling contracts the facial muscles and affects the blood flow to the face. As a result, substances are released that cause activity in the brain relating to positive emotions.
Jokes
A joke is a short story or series of words intended to amuse the listener or the reader. When we hear a joke we smile, or even laugh. The main thing is that this is a healthy activity and does us nothing but good.
So give a smile, start to see things in a more positive light, pay attention to good things, behave in a positive way, and everything will be better – and then you will have more and more reasons to be happy!
Good luck
