Magic

..............................................................................
What is a spell?
An action intended to influence reality by supernatural means in order to obtain immediate results. The term spell pertains to rituals whose purpose is to do magic.
A spell will never work unless you believe that it will work.

People today are less involved in spells. Despite all the stores of magic and miracles, the testimony of palmists, fortunetellers and healers who use special herbs, we are drawn into the technological changes and our personal security is improving. However, the moment things don’t go the way we would like, problems arise and matters get complicated, many people turn to magic.

There are many cases involving lots of people turning to magic in order to look for a solution to their problems, after having seen dozens of experts and tried every possible remedy.
There are those who believe that people can be saved from death or from serious illnesses with the aid of amulets, changing their name and undergoing various ceremonies.

The Difference between Religion and Magic
Like magic, religion deals with making contact with invisible forces, but without getting immediate results.
Magic and religion deal with the relationship between the individual and the world. According to this perception, all the events that take place in the world: Accidents, earthquakes, getting a bequest and the like, are not the result of chance processes.

Magic has criticized those who engage in magic, which is considered an inferior culture among ethnic groups.

Magic is based on the assumption that we can contact invisible forces and influence events.

Religious rituals are, in effect, magic events that we perform in order to influence our fate.  During these ceremonies we sacrifice and give various gifts in hopes of pleasing and saving ourselves from a bitter fate:
Examples:
  • The use of “magic words” that were considered to have the power to control the spirits
  • The use of wands and other ritual objects
  • The use of a magic circle to protect the magician from the spirits that he conjures up
  • The use of mystic symbols and seals that were considered useful for summoning or stimulating the spirits

Magic is also known as witchcraft.
In the past, the word magic was attributed to something that was “supernatural.”
Among those who practice the occult arts, magic is a fairly neutral term that has a number of contexts, such as white magic and black magic. The domain of magic has failed to obtain scientific support.  The source of the word magic is the name of the ancient Persian and Midian sorcerers who were known as magians.

Magic and magic ceremonies exist in every religion and in every culture.
Magic ceremonies include a number of stages:
  1. Defining the purpose of the magic act (harming the enemy, for example)
  2. Advance preparation for the magic ceremony by choosing the time when it will be performed (the full moon, for example)
  3. The place (a cemetery, for example)
  4. Obtaining symbolic objects required for the ceremony
  5. Preliminary purification – preparing the mind and body for the ceremony (for example immersion in a holy place, abstaining from wine and women)
  6. Symbolic creation of the place where the ceremony is performed, for example by drawing a circle on the ground
  7. Placing holy objects alongside and inside the circle
  8. Purifying the place where the ceremony will be held to remove obstructive factors, such as evil spirits This purification can be performed by sprinkling holy water, chanting and the like
  9. In the final stage of preparation, the magician will enter into an elevated state of consciousness by means of meditation, hallucinogenic drugs, dancing, chanting or sexual activity.  The goal is to call on the forces of the universe to aid in the success of the ceremony.
  10. Performing the magic ceremony – from this stage the magic ceremony itself is performed, with the magician praying, performing symbolic acts by means of various objects that he prepared in advance (for example a sacred sword that he will use to shatter the enemy’s symbols). On completion of the magic ceremony, the place where it was held is restored to its former condition (for example by burning what is left of the objects and erasing the circle) and the magician emerges from his state of consciousness and declares that the ceremony is over.

Most of the time human beings occupy themselves with realistic matters such as hard work. They try to influence the world and change it by material and tangible means. Religion and magic won’t bring about a solution without physical effort on our part.

But it’s always good to know that in hard times of loss, disappointment and serious problems, there is one way to get help, and that way is magic!

Tip of the week
Did you know that when we laugh, a "magic hormone" called endorphin is released from the brain. Endorphin is what the body manufactures to reduce pain, ease depression, and strengthen its systems. Worth laughing about, isn't it?...
